I agree with Chris that earthquakes can happen in a huge area destroying miles upon miles of homes and land

I believe that earthquakes are a lot more dangerous. Unlike volcanoes, earthquakes can occur anywhere but they usually occur around plate boundaries. The most deaths from an earthquake is 316000 and the most from a volcano is only 92,000. That is 3 times less than the death toll from an earthquake. When a volcano erupts you usually have time to get out of the area but with an earthquake but the time you feel it it is already to late. Also earthquakes happen a lot more often than a volcanic eruption. From an earthquake lots of other natural disasters can occur.
