I agree with Aaron they can happen anywhere. You can see where a volcano is really noticeable. Volcanoes stick out of the ground and you can see them.
I think that earthquakes are more dangerous. They can destroy miles upon miles of land. Volcanoes do not do that much damage maybe a couple of miles.In 1906 a earthquake destroyed 375,000 square miles. After that earthquake 400,000 were homeless. If the earthquake is large enough then it can cause a tsunami. A tsunami can damage more land than a volcano and earthquake combined.Earthquakes can be different sizes and do many different things.
